Chocolate brown is the new black
Deep chocolate, mocha, and latte are the shades manicurists keep naming for fall - moodier than beige, softer than black, and easy beside gold jewelry and a neutral coat. Brown does the work black used to do, without the hard edge.
It sits naturally in our Stone palette - Clay through Bark - the low-saturation, grey-toned browns that look like they have lived in natural light for a long time. A colour that recedes, so the hand comes forward.
Sheer and milky, for every day
The other half of the season is barely-there: sheer smoke, porcelain pink, almond cream. A light veil over the natural nail rather than a coat on top of it. It is the finish that reads clean in an office and considered at dinner, which is most of why it is everywhere.
This is the whole idea behind our Nudo series - bare, quiet tones where the material and the soft-gel finish speak, and nothing is added on top. The nail as an extension of the hand, not a departure from it.
Cherry wine, worn like a jewel
When fall wants colour, it wants it dark. Cherry wine and deep berry carry the drama of red with more mystery - the colour equivalent of a leather jacket. Worn short, they look expensive rather than done.
Wine is a shade we take seriously. For one red alone we developed more than twenty versions - different gels, different techniques - before settling on the final one. A colour like this is chosen, not assembled.
Soft almond and short oval
Shape followed colour into quiet this year. The dramatic stiletto stepped back; the season belongs to the soft almond and the short oval - a taper that reads refined rather than sharp, flattering on almost every hand. In February, Marie Claire named oval nails key to the ultimate Old Money manicure, and the shape has only settled in since.
It is why three of our five shapes are oval variations, by design. The oval lengthens the finger and slims the hand - refined without effort, classic without trend.
The thread through all of it
Browns, sheers, wines, a softer shape - the through-line is the same one the season keeps circling. Quiet reads as expensive. Details, handled, so the look is never the thing you have to manage.
